Green Lotus Flower Tea Light Holder

The Lotus Flower is a symbol of achieving enlightenment, peacefulness and spirituality.  This beautiful candle holder can be fitted with tealight candles or slightly larger candles.  The diameter of the middle is roughly 5.5cm, so it will fit any candle with the same diameter.

It is a lovely rich green colour with a silver edging along each of the lotus petals. When a candle is lit in the middle, because of the layers of petals this emits a wonderful soft glow and the candle is sheltered enough to be used both indoors and outdoors.

The candle holder is made from Capiz shells.  These are actually the outer shells of a marine mollusc; its scientific name is placuna placenta, more commonly known as "windowpane oyster". Philippine Capiz shells are so named because they were originally harvested from the shallow coastal waters near the town of Capiz, on the island of Panay. Once cleaned, the shells are naturally translucent and, when painted, allow for a glorious interplay between light and colour.  All the shells are sustainably harvested and these candleholders are Fairtrade products.
